OUR STORY
Hotel Wren is a boutique 12 room desert retreat in Twentynine Palms, California. It began its life as a 1940s roadside motel located just 10 minutes from the north entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, one of the most glorious natural wonders on this most glorious earth. Now, it’s next chapter is being written.
Hotel Wren is a creation of Manola Studio, a Los Angeles based multidisciplinary design studio centered upon cultivating harmony between self and space. With a deep reverence for history, human connection, and the poetry of place, Manola Studio crafts environments that nourish the soul—where ritual meets intention, and functionality flows with grace. It is from this spirit that Hotel Wren springs.

OUR LOCATION
Hotel Wren is located just a few miles from the lesser-known North Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, in Twentynine Palms, CA. Off the beaten path though not off the grid, we are located just 5 minutes from downtown Twentynine Palms, 15 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree, 1 hour from Palm Springs, 2 ½ hours from Los Angeles, and 3 hours from Las Vegas. Perhaps most importantly, we like to tell visitors that, should they wish, they can be sprawled atop one of Joshua Tree’s famed giant boulders watching the sunset in less than fifteen.
As you explore this beautiful region, we acknowledge the Indigenous peoples who have lived on and cared for this land for generations—the Maara’yam (Serrano), Nüwü (Chemehuevi), and Kawiya (Cahuilla), and Aha Macave (Mohave). We honor their land, their wisdom, and their legacy.
Hotel Wren humbly pledges to donate a portion of our proceeds to local organizations dedicated to protecting and preserving our cherished natural environment. Our support will go toward land conservation, habitat restoration, and ecological stewardship, ensuring this magical landscape remains for generations to come.

In an effort to create space for quiet reflection and connection to the desert’s serene beauty, our rooms have been thoughtfully designed without televisions.
